History

Mick Mullineaux began his career in 1969, as an apprentice with Eric Cousins, where he also served as a jockey on the flat.
During the following years Mick prepared many horses for Francis Lee, and also became involved in breaking-in horses for Lord Leverhulme, in readiness for training. It was in fact, as a direct result of Mick's association with Lord Leverhulme, that Southley stables was set up as a permanent training facility.

In 1996 Mick and Sue became full flat and jump trainers, having notable success with horses such as Talbot Avenue, Lady Boxer and Wizard of Oz, and since with Phoenix Eye, Methaaly and Two Turtle Doves - those horses having earned their owners a considerable amount of prize money.

Mick is also well known for his big prize winners; indeed he sent out a 20/1 winner Methaaly at Ayr, where his runners are showing a 175.00 profit to a 1.00 level stake in the last five years.
